We are seeking an experienced Information Governance Assurance Manager to provide senior leadership and expert advice on Information Governance and Data Protection across the Trust. The post holder will lead the development, implementation and assurance of a robust, risk-based Information Governance framework, ensuring compliance with UK data protection legislation, national policy and the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT). The role supports senior leaders, digital transformation programmes and system-wide data sharing initiatives.
Main Duties
- Lead Trust-wide Information Governance assurance and compliance
- Provide expert advice on data protection, confidentiality and information risk
- Lead DSPT assessment, action planning and assurance reporting
- Oversee DPIAs and information risk assessments for digital and transformation projects
- Manage and investigate serious IG incidents and data breaches
- Develop and maintain IG policies, procedures and assurance frameworks
- Support and deputise for the Data Protection Officer when required
- Lead, manage and develop Information Governance staff
- Work with internal and external stakeholders including regulators
Essential Experience
- Master's level qualification or equivalent senior-level experience in Information Governance
- Formal qualification in GDPR / Information Governance (e.g. ISEB or equivalent)
- Extensive knowledge of NHS Information Governance, DSPT and data protection law
- Proven experience leading IG risk, assurance and improvement programmes
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
