We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a busy Networks team supporting a large enterprise infrastructure across multiple sites in Sussex. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting and improving the organisation's network infrastructure. You'll be expected to work independently, resolve complex network issues and contribute to the ongoing development of secure, resilient and high performing network services. This role is predominantly site-based, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and support enterprise network infrastructure.
- Deliver structured cabling installations, including WAN, distribution, BMS, IoT and wireless access point connections.
- Maintain LAN, WAN, wireless and remote access services.
- Monitor network performance and proactively resolve faults and capacity issues.
- Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and escalations.
- Plan and implement network improvements to enhance performance, resilience and security.
- Maintain technical standards across the network estate.
- Support ISO27001 compliance and information security requirements.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting complex enterprise network environments.
- Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, routing, switching and wireless technologies.
- Commercial experience with Juniper networking equipment.
- Juniper certification (JNCIS, JNCIP or equivalent).
- Experience with Juniper Mist wireless technology.
- Experience administering Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Experience installing structured cabling and enterprise networking equipment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Knowledge of ISO27001.
- ITIL v4 or v5.
- Experience within an NHS or large public sector environment.
