Overview

Salt Recruitment is working with a local government body to recruit an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to support council-wide business intelligence and reporting. This senior, hands-on role works closely with service leads and corporate stakeholders to deliver high-quality Power BI solutions that support decision-making, service improvement, and organisational change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and delivery of Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Translate complex business requirements into robust BI solutions.
  • Work directly with senior stakeholders across council services and corporate functions.
  • Extract, model and transform data from multiple council systems.
  • Support complex, multi-disciplinary projects that drive organisational and cultural change.
  • Ensure reporting outputs are delivered within agreed scope, quality and budget.
  • Produce and maintain all required documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering Power BI solutions within local government.
  • Strong hands-on Power BI development skills, including data modelling and DAX.
  • Experience working with complex, multi-source public sector data.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation or organisational change programmes.

Contract details: £591 per day. Inside IR35. 36 hours per week. Hybrid working – 4 days remote, 1 day onsite in Central London. Immediate or short-notice availability preferred. Only candidates with proven local government experience are considered. Rates depend on experience and client requirements.
