We're looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a major transformation initiative within financial services. This is a high-impact role where you'll define and modernise enterprise data architecture across both traditional relational platforms and cutting-edge distributed NoSQL technologies. You'll be the authority on data modelling, architecture standards, and governance, partnering with senior business and technology stakeholders to design scalable, resilient, and future-ready data solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the discovery, analysis, and documentation of current and future-state enterprise data architectures.
  • Design and deliver enterprise-wide data models, including domain models, conceptual models, logical models, and physical models.
  • Architect high-performance data solutions across Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and YugabyteDB, for on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Define data standards, governance frameworks, modelling conventions, and metadata strategies.
  • Drive enterprise data strategy and contribute to architecture governance boards.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineering teams, business stakeholders, and delivery leads.
  • Assess legacy platforms and recommend modernisation and optimisation opportunities.
  • Support data migration, integration, transformation, scalability, resiliency, and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Produce clear architecture artefacts and presentations for both technical and executive audiences.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect within complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in relational database design and modelling with Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with distributed NoSQL platforms such as Cassandra and YugabyteDB.
  • Advanced knowledge of data modelling best practices, normalisation and denormalisation, distributed data architecture, partitioning and replication strategies, and high‑availability and scalability patterns.
  • Experience creating enterprise-level domain, conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Expertise with data modelling tools, ideally ER/Studio or Hackolade.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration, metadata management, and data governance.
  • Exposure to cloud and hybrid data platforms is highly desirable.
  • Financial services experience, particularly in capital markets, investment banking, trading platforms, risk & regulatory technology.
