Overview

We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to support a busy Public Health function, focusing on sexual and reproductive health services. This is a hands-on role requiring strong commissioning, project management and stakeholder engagement experience within a local authority or public health setting. You will support a range of active workstreams including re-commissioning services, managing existing contracts and contributing to wider London level sexual health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support commissioning activity across sexual and reproductive health services
  • Manage contracts with commissioned providers, ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes
  • Support procurement processes and service redesign initiatives
  • Deliver multiple project workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Contribute to the development of sexual health strategy and programme delivery
  • Engage with stakeholders across local authorities, providers and public health teams
  • Support work relating to young people's sexual health services and engagement activity
  • Provide subject matter expertise across sexual health and public health priorities

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in commissioning within a local authority or public health setting
  • Strong background in sexual and reproductive health services
  • Experience managing contracts and commissioned providers
  • Solid project or programme management experience across multiple workstreams
  • Understanding of public health priorities and service delivery models
  • Experience working with NHS or local authority stakeholders
  • Ability to start immediately and operate in a fast-moving environment

Reporting Line

Reporting into the Head of Public Health Services for Children and Young People and Sexual Health, with Matrix support from the Sexual Health Commissioning Manager.

Rates depend on experience and client requirements.
