About the Role

Are you a cyber security experienced, curious problem-solver who loves coding and automation? Our client is seeking a talented Identity & Access Engineer to join our friendly and growing IAM team as we modernise our in-house Identity and Access Management platform and explore deeper integration with Microsoft Security products. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact - helping to shape the next generation of IAM services that underpin every part of the university's digital ecosystem. You'll work with experienced specialists across Information Services and other departments to ensure our systems remain secure, efficient, and future-ready.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance IAM services and integrations using PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and deliver secure data interfaces between systems
  • Contribute to the modernisation of legacy IAM platform, introducing automation and improved security controls
  • Support day-to-day IAM operations, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data
  • Keep pace with emerging IAM standards, best practices, and technologies
  • Document, test, and present your work clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

About You

  • Minimum 18 months experience
  • Strong coding skills in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript and understanding of IAM and cyber security
  • Proven experience developing, documenting, and supporting IT services or integrations
  • An analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
  • A passion for continuous improvement and teamwork
  • Commercial, Public sector or Education sector experience is highly desirable
