You will join a small specialist team responsible for the university virtual learning environment and associated learning technologies. The focus of the role is hands-on development, integrations and improving the core platforms used for teaching, learning and assessment. The role requires a strong Moodle developer who can work independently, write high-quality code and contribute ideas to improve the platform landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and enhance Moodle functionality including plugin development and integrations
- Work across systems such as Moodle, lecture capture platforms and learning tools
- Build and maintain integrations between university systems using APIs
- Investigate technical issues and implement fixes across the platform estate
- Work closely with internal teams, architects, analysts and vendors
- Support improvements to data flows between systems such as student records, timetabling and learning platforms
- Contribute to documentation, development standards and best practice
- Provide technical expertise across projects and operational work
- Ensure secure, stable and scalable services across the learning systems landscape
- Strong Moodle development experience
- Experience building plugins, integrations or custom functionality
- Experience working with APIs and system integrations
