Band 8 NHS Data Architect/Designer (Google Cloud)

Rate: Β£245 per day Inside IR35

A healthcare client is seeking a Band 8 NHS Data Architect/Designer to play a key role in defining and implementing the technical architecture of the National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP). This role will focus on designing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based data solutions to support healthcare analytics and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement technical strategies, architectures, and data models on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Lead the design and delivery of cloud-based data engineering, DevOps, and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to establish best practices.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and performance of cloud-based data solutions.
  • Guide and mentor teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Drive the adoption of architectural principles and data governance standards.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect/Designer working on large-scale cloud data projects.
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for data and analytics.
  • Ability to define technical roadmaps, architectural best practices, and governance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in data engineering, DevOps, and cloud automation.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, metadata management, and data governance.
  • Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear architectural direction.
