Position Overview
SALONI is looking for a dynamic and organised Senior Product & Fabric Developer to provide support within the London office across product and fabric development for all collections. This Developer position sits within the Design & Sampling team, with a strong focus on Fabrics. The ideal candidate should have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and factories to ensure timely and accurate delivery of fabrics and samples.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed garment tech packs, supporting the design team throughout the sampling and development process.
- Coordinate with factories and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fabrics and samples, proactively following up to maintain development and sampling timelines.
- Assist in development fittings and production handover fittings, as required.
- Source seasonal fabrics aligned with brand aesthetic and quality standards.
- Liaise with suppliers to gather fabric costs and technical information; input accurate data into fabric charts ahead of production.
- Create detailed technical fabric specs and support as needed with artworks for fabric developments.
- Issue and manage strike-offs, lab dips, and sampling purchase orders, tracking all progress.
- Inspect, measure, and record all incoming sampling fabrics, maintaining colour standards and quality benchmarks.
- Organise and maintain the fabric archive both physically and digitally, while managing leftover sampling and production fabrics held in-house and with suppliers.
- Keep all fabric information accurate and up-to-date for a seamless transition from sampling to production.
- Oversee sampling admin and maintain records throughout the development cycle.
The Ideal Candidate
- BA or equivalent qualification in Fashion (Womenswear) or Textiles Design.
- Highly organised and adaptable problem solver, with experience working within a fast-paced luxury design studio.
- In-depth technical understanding of fabric processes, including print, embroidery, and woven jacquards.
- Experience in making garment tech packs with detailed technical information.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction and finishings.
- Effective communicator, and experience in maintaining supplier relationships.
- Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Office suite.
