Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to manage the Accounts Payable function and play a key role in the financial accounting and reporting process. This person is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of Accounts Payable across multiple countries and sales channels. They will be fully responsible for posting invoices and payments, supplier reconciliations, payment proposals and running weekly payment runs. The role will also support the finance team with month end activity and any other ad hoc requests. Reporting into Head of Finance, we are looking for an individual who is driven, commercially literate and has the ability to work independently as part of a small busy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Purchase Ledger including registering of invoices / credit notes received daily and ensuring controls at each stage agree with supporting records
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Prepare and process payments for weekly and monthly BACS payment runs
- Perform Supplier reconciliations and if required request copy invoice
- Correspond with vendors and respond to enquiries
- Post all bank transactions movements
- Fully reconcile bank accounts across multiple currencies
- Support the management accountant during month end closure with journal postings and reporting, including but not limited to unbilled invoice accruals, Intercompany journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist Management Accountant with audit queries
Essential Skills and Experience
- Current experience in an AP role preferably in a retail or wholesale company
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong excel skills
- Proven ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Well organized
- Good communication skills on the telephone and in writing
Office Environment
The role is office based Monday-Friday. Beautiful central London location in Clerkenwell with a passionate team. Immersive brand training and professional development opportunities.
