Overview
At Walker Park Distribution Centre, we\’re looking for an FLT and Specialist Instructor to deliver engaging training on Forklift Trucks (FLT), Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE), manual handling, and health & safety. You\\\’ll play a key role in creating a safe, skilled, and confident workforce, ensuring all team members have the knowledge and training they need to succeed.
What You\\\’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality training sessions on FLT, MHE, manual handling, and workplace safety.
- Facilitate engaging and informative inductions for new starters.
- Assess training needs and work with the team to ensure ongoing development.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure all team members are up to date with refresher courses.
- Support health & safety compliance by contributing to risk assessments and safety reviews.
- Promote a positive and inclusive safety culture, ensuring safe working practices across the site.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to continuously improve training programs.
Who You Are
We\\\’re looking for someone who is passionate about training, safety, and teamwork—someone who can engage, inspire, and develop others in a supportive and inclusive way.
- Experienced in warehouse operations and health & safety best practices.
- An excellent communicator, able to adapt training for different learning styles.
- Organised and proactive, with great time management skills.
- IT-literate, confident using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- A team player, who works well with others to create a positive learning environment.
Bonus Points If You Have
- A current FLT instructor qualification (ideally RTITB accredited).
- Experience training on various FLT/MHE equipment types (VNA, Order Picker, Counterbalance, Reach).
- Manual Handling Instructor certification.
- An IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
