About the role This role will head up the procurement function and provide the strategic lead for procurement at Salix Homes. Leading a small, although highly effective, team, activities will range from managing the coordination of procurement and contract management activities, liaising with the individual business areas to provide sound procurement advice and adhering to Salix Homes own procurement strategy. The role holder will ensure Salix Homes’ adheres to commercial and regulatory requirements as well as relevant legislation. Salix has an annual spend of c£52m which you help lead the process to generate efficiency savings. The role – What I’ll be doing? • Providing strategic procurement advice across all levels and departments of the organisation to inform decision making • Ensuring our procurement activity is compliant in relation to UK procurement law (Procurement Act 2023) and represents best practice • Developing procurement delivery targets, including cashable savings and generating social value savings to achieve the maximum benefit for customers and the organisation • Overseeing the completion of the procurement workplan – including successful completion of tenders, oversight of terms & conditions and effective contract management • Embedding value for money across Salix • Attending Senior Leadership Team and Audit and Risk Committee meetings to update on procurement activity and progress What we’re looking for • A self-motivated procurement expert who can manage effectively and who thrives on change • A Procurement Industry related Professional Qualification (MCIPS, CIPS, Logistics and supply chain MSc or equivalent similar) or working towards with relevant working experience • Well-developed leadership skills • Experience in implementing and operating procurement and contract management systems What we offer as a company • Annual Salary of up to £52,805 +Market allowance of £13,200 (£65,000) • Hybrid working, a minimum of 2 days working in the office • Flexible working (based on a 36 hour working week) and family friendly policies • Life Assurance worth 3 x annual salary • Health Cash Plan which also provides a range of discounts including discounted gym membership • An inclusive and positive colleague culture Salix Homes are proud to have been awarded membership to the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter and we will constantly strive to improve working conditions for our colleagues Salix Homes is an Equal Opportunities Employer and opposes all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination.
