Salix Homes is seeking an experienced Property Surveyor (Healthy Homes) to join our Healthy Homes Team. This role supports the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused repairs and maintenance services across our housing stock, helping to create safe, sustainable communities. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving our housing stock across Salford and parts of Greater Manchester. You will work largely independently in the field while being fully supported by a collaborative, experienced team led by the Senior Healthy Homes Manager.

What you’ll be doing

The purpose of this role is to deliver a comprehensive surveying service across Salix Homes’ properties and related assets. You will be responsible for both pre- and post-inspections, working closely with subcontractors and internal colleagues to ensure works are delivered to a high standard. Your role will focus primarily on identifying and assessing property defects, including damp and mould issues and HHSRS-related risks, while also contributing to wider surveying and technical functions across the organisation as required. This will involve working both in person and digitally, and providing professional, practical advice to colleagues to support effective decision-making.

You will need access to a vehicle and be able to travel across Greater Manchester as part of your role, therefore a full UK driving licence is required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Takes pride in delivering high-quality work
  • Is passionate about providing excellent customer service
  • Can remain calm, empathetic and professional in challenging situations
  • Previous experience within a housing association or social housing repairs environment is desirable but not essential. What matters most is your commitment to customers and your ability to apply sound technical judgement.

You will also need:

  • Strong ICT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to work with a range of systems (knowledge of AccuServ is desirable)

Our operational hours are 8.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday (36 hour week). You may be required to work occasional weekends or alternative working patterns to meet service needs.

What we offer as a company

  • Annual Salary of £40,777 up to £42,839
  • 5 days site-based working
  • Up to 34 day’s holiday
  • Hybrid working, flexible working and family friendly policies
  • Opportunities for training and development
  • Generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme (up to 15% combined)
  • Life Assurance worth 3 x annual salary
  • Health Cash Plan which also provides a range of discounts including discounted gym membership
  • An inclusive and positive colleague culture
