We're looking for two experienced and customer focused Property Inspector to join our Healthy Homes team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of property maintenance, housing standards and building defects who wants to make a real difference to customers' lives.

You’ll help to ensure our homes are safe, compliant and well maintained.

You’ll inspect properties, identify housing condition issues including damp and mould, and work with customers, contractors and internal teams to deliver effective repairs and excellent service.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Carry out detailed property inspections, identifying defects, hazards, damp, mould and other housing condition issues.
  • Undertake HHSRS assessments and recommend appropriate remedial action.
  • Prepare inspection reports, specifications and schedules of work.
  • Manage repair and housing condition cases from referral through to successful resolution.
  • Monitor contractor performance and inspect completed works to ensure quality, compliance and value for money.
  • Work closely with customers, keeping them informed and supporting vulnerable households where required.
  • Ensure work complies with relevant legislation, health and safety requirements and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to service improvements and work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • What we’re looking for

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • Experience in property inspection, repairs and maintenance, ideally within social housing or a related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of property maintenance, HHSRS, damp and mould, and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience managing contractors, SORs and challenging poor-quality or inaccurate work.
  • Strong organisational, diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and strong record-keeping abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

HHSRS, BOHS P402/P405 or equivalent damp and mould qualification, IOSH Managing Safely, or RICS/CIOB/CABE membership.

Our operational hours are 8.00am – 7.00pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9.00am – 4.30pm.

You may be expected to work occasional weekends and alternative working patterns during the working week
