The HR Associate II provides support for the Compliance functions to include policies and procedures, benefit and wellness program, workplace accommodations, compensation & classification, and employee/labor relations. This role provides specialized administrative support to the functional specialists with regard to tasks, processes, and projects, to ensure timely, accurate and compliant processing of HR Compliance functions. This position has a high level of interaction with the campus community and external stakeholders and requires utmost adherence of confidentiality for all employee records and sensitive information.
Authority and Accountability
This position will report to the HR Compliance Director and has no direct reports.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four years clerical experience, three of which must have involved the application of human resources policies and procedures.
- Experience with or knowledge of compliance rules and regulations to include COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with HRIS or other employee management systems such as Workday and strong research and analytical skills.
- Working experience with workplace accommodations.
- Working experience with State of Maryland Health Benefits and Retirement package.
The position is a full-time, non-exempt state role with comprehensive benefits. Priority will be given to applicants who apply by February 12, 2026. However, the position will remain open until filled.
