The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst performs a variety of activities in support of efficient Workday Human Resource Operations at Salisbury University. By optimizing Workday technology and processes, the incumbent will administer consistent, professional and timely assistance. They will assess business needs and challenges, develop and document processes, and complete business transactions in the Workday system. While serving as a primary contact for HCM Workday functions, this individual will screen requests, evaluate historical process, redefine current process, execute processing and data entry tasks and implement creative solutions to ensure operational excellence.

This position is expected to collaborate with campus members as we seek to transform the HCM operations at SU. They will serve as the lead on key Workday projects and operational initiatives to define and run the operations and business processes and requirements of the institution.

Authority and Accountability

This role will report to the head of the HRIS team. Work interactions will include all SU departments, Faculty, Staff along with other USM schools. Our roles are fast-paced and focus on analyzing challenging problems and coming up with solutions to a variety of operational critical issues, all while running various projects and initiatives. They must be very detailed, self-motivated, results oriented, and an excellent communicator.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant business process analysis and/or business analyst functional experience required. At least 2 years of Workday experience is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to understand the broad range of needs and various support requirements for delivering exemplary customer service to clients in a wide range of roles, across the institution.
  • Flexibility and adaptability; ability to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and to effectively articulate the information to others through visuals/diagrams or other requirements documentation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats to a variety of audiences, as well as to create and maintain positive, productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to operate independently and set priorities amongst multiple task assignments.
  • Excellent analytical skills, intellectually curious, and loves a good challenge.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, assignments, and projects, being self-motivated and highly engaged, with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a highly diverse environment, demonstrating capacity to develop & maintain effective working relationships with individuals & organizations reflecting a broad range of identities, perspectives & experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in a higher education environment strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of Workday Human Resources experience is strongly preferred.
