Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Theatre Scrub Nurses to join our dynamic Plastics Team and contribute to the growth of our services.
A specialist team at Salisbury District Hospital provides a comprehensive range of plastic surgery services, including acute and reconstructive burns care, cleft surgery supporting children across Salisbury and Oxford regions, and trauma as well as elective reconstructive procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist environment at the renowned Odstock Regional Centre for Burns, Plastic, and Reconstructive Surgery.
Plastics also forms part of a specialty network that includes cleft surgery, burns care, and reconstructive surgery. While these posts focus on Plastics, there is scope to develop your skills and expand your knowledge base across broader specialty areas. The activity is organized between Main Theatres and Day Surgery, with plenty of support from our Senior Team Lead for successful applicants.

Main duties of the job
- Deliver high quality evidence-based care with attention to patient experience.
- Be responsible for the assessment, planning, and reviewing of care throughout the operating list.
- Develop and demonstrate effective leadership qualities using excellent interpersonal skills when working in the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain a safe environment through developing and maintaining skills in the use of surgical equipment/instrumentation according to manufacturers\β instructions and Trust policies.
- Share your knowledge and skills through mentorship, supervision, and teaching where applicable.
- Demonstrate personal responsibility towards professional learning, keeping up to date with training and adhering to Trust guidelines and policies.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the Trust\βs recovery plan and an understanding of list productivity, efficiency, and planning.
- Possess good IT skills and demonstrate accurate record keeping.
