An opportunity has arisen to join the Booking Team within the Central Booking department at Salisbury Foundation Trust, as a Band 3 Booking Coordinator. The successful candidate will join the Booking Team and work within the team to provide an excellent, friendly and organised booking experience for our patients.
To provide an efficient and friendly booking service for our patients and clinical teams, ensuring all efforts are made to provide patients with an outstanding experience as per the Trust vision. To be responsible for managing patient pathways whilst under the care of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, starting with new patient referrals received and the subsequent booking of new patient appointments, surgery and/or follow-up appointments.
The successful candidate will need to be experienced in or be willing to learn how to use multiple IT systems including ERS and Lorenzo and have a good understanding of patient pathways and referral processes. We are looking for evidence of team working as well as the ability to work independently. The organisational skills to work in a busy team environment, whilst prioritising workload and working to deadlines, recent experience in administration is essential.
The post holder must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in patient/customer contact. The department is busy but friendly and has a strong team working ethic, with staff needing to cross-cover and support each other. The department is open 08:00–18:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00–17:30 on Friday.
Essential Qualifications- GCSE grade C/4 in English Language and Maths
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office and strong aptitude in the use of other programs and administration systems
- Experience working in an administrative environment
- Experience/knowledge of issues of working with confidential information and understanding of need for confidentiality and information governance
- Experience in customer/patient contact
- Recent experience within the NHS, able to articulate and express information in a clear, concise and understandable way, both verbally and written to a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload utilising a learned knowledge of local and national access standards effectively, even while under pressure to meet deadlines
- Existing knowledge of patient administration processes used within the NHS
- Existing knowledge of NHS policies and procedures
