Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing: As part of the Atlas Family, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe environment in a nursery setting. You’ll receive full training, including an on-site induction and support to understand the cleaning specification and safeguarding expectations.

  • General cleaning duties including wiping, mopping, hoovering and dusting
  • Following site‑specific cleaning and audit processes
  • Ensuring cleaning standards meet health and safety requirements
  • Supporting clear communication by reporting any issues promptly
  • Respecting site rules, including mobile phone use and key handling procedures
  • Supporting a safe environment for children and staff by following safeguarding protocols

Important Safeguarding Requirement: Before starting work on site, you will need to be introduced to the nursery manager and present your original Enhanced DBS certificate (Child Workforce) along with photographic ID. This introduction must take place before your first shift.

  • Friendly, trustworthy and professional
  • Strong attention to detail and take pride in your work
  • Able to follow safeguarding requirements and site procedures
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) dated within the last 3 years is essential – or willingness to complete one
  • Able to carry out the physical aspects of the role
  • Confident with basic spoken English for safety and communication
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Two satisfactory references are required as part of the recruitment process for this role
