Streetscene Officer FTE Salary: £25,185 - £25,989 (Pro-Rata) 15 hours per week (0.4FTE), 2 Days a week

Salisbury City Council has a new opportunity for the right individual to join our friendly team. Assisting with the cleansing of the highways and footpaths throughout the City and within the parks and open spaces, ensuring DEFRA grade A standards are achieved.

About the role:

  • Removal of litter
  • Servicing street litter bins
  • Street sweeping
  • Removing weeds, graffiti, fly-tipping and fly-posting
  • Gathering evidence required for prosecutions
  • Driving a Council Streetscene vehicle
  • Steam cleaning

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working independently and as part of a team
  • Has experience of working outdoors in all conditions and a willingness to complete a number of cleansing tasks as directed
  • Is capable of working effectively without supervision
  • Is able to complete daily and weekly task sheets, where appropriate
  • Is capable of diverting working schedules as directed in response to emerging issues i.e. spillages, accidents etc.
  • Can build effective working relationships with colleagues
  • Is physically able to operate a variety of cleansing machinery and undertake a number of cleansing activities including manual cleansing and weeding
  • Is able to handle bagged and bulky waste and transfer to relative collection areas
  • Is able to comply with health and safety regulations
