We're working with a well-funded stealth AI company building at the intersection of AI, science, and real-world experimentation. They’re early, very ambitious, and backed by top-tier investors. The team has high talent density, is small, technical, and moving quickly, now looking for a foundational DevOps Engineer to build the infrastructure that lets researchers and engineers move fast.

This is not a “maintain the existing stack” role. You’ll be helping set the patterns from the ground up across cloud infrastructure, GPU compute, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, security, reproducibility, and internal tooling. The work is high-impact because the infrastructure directly supports scientific discovery. Every improvement in reliability, training speed, experiment orchestration, deployment, or researcher self-service helps the team learn faster and build better systems.

What you’ll work on:

  • Build and own cloud infrastructure across AWS/GCP.
  • Manage Kubernetes environments for AI workloads.
  • Support GPU compute environments for model training and inference.
  • Build CI/CD and GitOps workflows that let the team ship safely and quickly.
  • Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • Create reproducible research and production environments.
  • Implement security best practices across IAM, secrets, networking, and vulnerability management.
  • Build internal tools that allow researchers and engineers to self-serve infrastructure.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure background.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform/Pulumi, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Comfortable working with Linux, networking, CI/CD, monitoring, and security.
  • Ideally experience with GPU workloads, AI infrastructure, ML platforms, MLOps, or research computing.
  • Strong bias for ownership able to build properly, but pragmatically, in an early-stage environment.
  • Curious, collaborative, self-driven, and excited by hard technical problems.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, vLLM, Triton, Ray, Slurm, MLflow, W&B, Airflow, Argo, or DVC.
  • Background in AI labs, deep tech, scientific computing, research infrastructure, or high-performance cloud platforms.
  • Experience building infrastructure from scratch in a startup or high-growth environment.

Why this is interesting:

  • Stealth AI company with serious backing.
  • Foundational role with huge ownership.
  • Build the infrastructure for AI + real-world scientific experimentation.
  • Small, high-calibre team across AI, engineering, and science.
  • Very little legacy — you’ll help shape how things are built.
  • Strong compensation and meaningful equity.
  • London HQ, with flexibility for strong people across Europe / similar time zones.

If you’re a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, SRE, ML Platform Engineer, AI Infrastructure Engineer, or GPU Infrastructure Engineer who wants to build something from the ground up, I’d love to chat.
