At Salfords Primary School, we are seeking a caring and committed Specialist SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support - helping a child feel confident, included and able to thrive both in and beyond the classroom for two days per week (Thurs & Fri) on a fixed-term basis until August 2027.
Your opportunity
We are looking for an exceptional SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive school. This role requires previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a one-to-one capacity, supporting children with additional needs. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for inclusion and experience working with neurodivergent children who are motivated and excited to be active members of our school community, but who sometimes need intensive support to navigate social interactions and regulate their emotions. Your role will be pivotal in helping children feel they belong in our school and thrive both socially and academically.
What we're looking for:
- Good general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Teaching Assistant.
- Extensive experience of working with pupils with SEND.
- Ability to support learning activities, clarify instructions, and engage children effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise tasks, and maintain accurate records.
- Good communication skills, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexible, calm under pressure, and passionate about making a positive impact on children’s lives.

The Details
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: GLF Specialist Point 1 - £27,061
Actual Salary: £8,568.48
Hours: 13.25hrs per week (Thurs 08:15-15:30 & Fri 08:30-15:30) term time only.
Closing Date: 21st August 2026
Contract Type: Fixed term until Aug 2027
