Overview

The Northern Care Alliance Mortuary Service is made up of the Royal Oldham Hospital Mortuary Department and the Salford Royal Mortuary Services. It provides comprehensive Mortuary and Post-mortem Services to the four hospitals of the Trust, community deaths for the Manchester North Coroner, forensic service for the Greater Manchester Coroners, and the Home Office. Both departments are HTA licensed and UKAS accredited.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician in the Trust Mortuary Services, rotating between both Mortuary Departments.
  • Be proficient in the use of mortuary and post-mortem equipment and be proficient in dissection techniques; ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed; conduct Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities.
  • Perform basic mortuary and post-mortem tasks and use the department computer systems.
