A n exciting new opportunity has arisen to join our Workforce Learning and Development Team within Salford Children\’s Services as a Training Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Role :

  • As the Training Officer, you will develop, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate the training programme. This will involve managing the training calendar on a weekly basis where you will be responsible for coordination of invites and respond to queries through the team inbox.
  • You will be instrumental in the development of a website to ensure accessibility for training advertising and sign up and learning and development opportunities. You will need the skills to be able to complete tasks independently.
  • You will have excellent organisational skills to develop systems and records of who attended training and evaluate the effectiveness of the training through strong analysis. You will be able to set up spreadsheets and keep track of who has attended training and see trends in the data.
  • You will have good communication skills and will liaise and form positive relationships with trainers and speakers to ensure effective delivery of the programme and forward planning.
  • You will work with the Service Manager, to arrange, to analyse and create a new training plan each year after consultation with the workforce, responding to needs. You will be responsible for leading on service feedback and work with the QA officers to evaluate the impact of training
  • You will manage the practical arrangements of training through good organisation and preparation and ensuring technology is in place and set up to support the delivery onsite where needed.

Knowledge of Microsoft systems and IT skills would be required for this role. An understanding of Local Government or Children’s Services would be helpful.
