From grade II listed buildings such as Buile Hill Mansion and the Salford Museum and Art Gallery to nationally strategic sites at Salford Quays and modern new build modular buildings in the heart of the City, Salford City Council offers a unique opportunity for those with a passion for all things property.
We’re currently looking for an experienced Building & Construction Manager to lead our team of property professionals delivering a wide range of exceptional services to the people of Salford, including day to maintenance and repairs and major construction and refurbishment projects.
SCC is currently transitioning to be a data driven organisation and this is an ideal opportunity to join the team to help shape the future of the services we deliver across the council and beyond.
About you
As a senior manager in the Building and Facilities team you will bring proven experience of Building Surveying, Project Management and Property Asset Management Surveys, associated services and an understanding of client side pre- and post-contract roles.
To effectively lead the team you will have proven experience at a senior level in delivering concept to completion constriction projects, with extensive knowledge of procurement and contract management.
Experience working at a senior level within the building and construction industry is vital for this role, as is previous budget and line management responsibility, whilst working within the local authority or education sector will be a distinct advantage.

The Building and Facilities teams currently maintain around 500 buildings as part of the council estate, covering corporate offices, leisure centres, commercial property and buildings & structures of historic importance no day is the same. Covering all things property related the team are responsible for asset compliance, day to day repairs, energy management and capital investment programmes.
We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team for a Building and Construction Manager to enable us to continue to build on our success and bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.
We provide a supportive, flexible and engaging environment and promote job satisfaction for our staff, who in turn deliver high quality services to the people of Salford.
Responsible for all aspects of property maintenance to a large and varied portfolio of land and buildings across the City of Salford, We work with schools, social care premises, housing buildings, leisure buildings and listed historic buildings.
