Mental Health Commissioning and Review Officer

About the role
We are recruiting to a key Mental Health Commissioning and Review Office role within Adult Social Care, to work with adults of working age across Mental Health Social Work services and the AMHP Hub.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a person‑centred statutory social work service for the most vulnerable adults and their carers in accordance with local and national policies and procedures.
- Adopt a person‑centred and strengths‑based approach when completing statutory reviews of care packages.
- Actively support and participate in the development and implementation of integrated, multi‑disciplinary working.
- Take a key role working with partners to safeguard adults through the effective management of risk and the recording and sharing of information.
- Support the Team Manager and Advanced Practitioner with respect to the delivery of social care commissioning and reviews of care packages.
Qualifications and experience
- Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree, CQSW, CSS, Dip SW, or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with adults/older people, including individuals presenting with mental health conditions.
- Good understanding of key legislation related to the role, particularly the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983, as amended) and Mental Capacity Act (2005).
- Evidenced understanding of the principles and values underlying the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983, as amended), Mental Capacity Act 2005 and other relevant legislation.
- Previous experience assessing social care needs and commissioning packages of care in line with the Care Act 2014 and section 117 of the Mental Health Act.
