Responsibilities

  • You will plan and deliver engaging Early Years activities across Salford libraries and communities, including targeted outreach to underrepresented groups to increase library attendance, memberships and loans.
  • You will build partnerships with community and voluntary organisations, help develop new literacy initiatives, deliver staff training, and support frontline library services where needed.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for someone with a passion for libraries and the transformative power of reading and stories, alongside experience of working with young children and families.
  • A knowledge of current developments in the Public Library Sector, experience of partnership working and community engagement would be beneficial but not essential.

Job Details

  • The role is 30 hours per week across 4 days, Monday to Friday.
  • The post is citywide, so travel across Salford is required, along with a flexible approach to meeting service needs.
  • It is fixed term until 31st March 2027.
