This post is special. We are looking for some inspiring individuals who want to work with disabled young people or those with special educational needs to support the delivery of Salford SEND Youth Forum and other groups. Salford Youth Service works with young people aged 10-25. The sessional youth worker role is to provide a range of services to young people to improve their health and education outcomes, to keep them safe and to ensure they have a voice.
The 6 sessional youth worker posts will support the full-time youth workers in their local area with face-to-face delivery of youth work with other part-time staff and volunteers. Posts include working with disabled young people or young people with Special Educational Needs.
The post-holder will deliver work in schools, working with the detached youth work team and in the locality youth centres. Some sessions are during the daytime, but most are evenings, typically 5:30-8:30 on weekday evenings, including Friday evenings.
Youth Work training is available FREE for these posts, which would include a Level 3 in Youth Work.
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently Β£49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four monthsβ salary payments at a rate of Β£12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of Β£49.50.
If you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years or 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total) in the last 10 years whilst aged 18 or over, please refer to the link below for details on how to obtain your Certificates of Good Character.
