We are recruiting to a key Social Worker Mental Health role within Adult Social Care, to work with adults of working age across Mental Health Social Work services and the AMHP Hub. As a Social Worker Mental Health, you will:
- Provide a person centred, statutory social work service for the most vulnerable adults and their carers in accordance with local and national policies and procedures.
- Actively support and participate in the development and implementation of integrated, multi-disciplinary working.
- Take a key role working with partners to safeguard adults through the effective management of risk and the recording and sharing of information.
- Adopt a strengths‑based approach to meet the individual needs of people with lived experience through effective care and support planning.
- Contribute to the effective development of the team and carry out activities under the direction of a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner, or other professional staff.
What we’re looking for:
- Has a recognised Social Work qualification; Degree, CQSW, CSS, Dip SW or equivalent and holds a current registration with Social Work England.
- Has a good understanding of how key legislation relates to the Mental Health Social Work role, particularly the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983, as amended) and Mental Capacity Act (2005).
- Understands the principles and values underlying the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983, as amended), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and other relevant legislation.
- Understands strengths based approaches and the independence (enablement) model of health and social care.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of personalisation and a person‑centred approach, including Making Safeguarding Personal.
- You must evidence that you have a clear understanding of the social work role in a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Is experienced in working with adults/older people, including prior experience working with individuals presenting with mental health conditions.
- Can evidence an innovative approach to the development of new methods of working to support people in the community and has knowledge of relevant Welfare Rights Legislation.
- You must clearly evidence your ability to develop effective working relationships with adults and their carers’ and show evidence of good assessment practice.
