Barton Moss Secure Care Centre
We are a 24 bed Secure Children;s home which is made up of 6 residential homes. We care for sentenced and remanded children (boys) and are part of the national Secure Children’s Home network
The centre has a proven track record of offering a very high standard of emotional, educational and physical care. This supports children to succeed in their personal and academic development and resettlement back into the community.
Our current vacancies are:
- Residential Child Care Workers: 36hrs (Grade 3A + 2 increments for weekend working, £35,570 - £38,510, plus allowance)

About the roles
As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting some of the most vulnerable children to achieve positive outcomes and build brighter futures. Working within a trauma-informed environment, you will develop trusting and meaningful relationships with children who may have experienced significant adversity, helping them to feel safe, valued, and understood. The role requires resilience, emotional intelligence, and the ability to remain calm and consistent during challenging situations. Through compassion, patience, and professional curiosity, you will support children to regulate their emotions, develop life skills, and make positive changes, while maintaining clear boundaries and working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to keeping children safe and helping them reach their full potential.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
