Highway\’s Operative (with HGV/7.5t Driving) – 2 Further Permanent Vacancies Available – Be Part of Our Expanding Team!

We’re growing our highways team and looking for skilled and committed Highway Operatives ideally with HGV or 7.5-tonne driving capability to support a wide range of maintenance and improvement works across our network.

What You’ll Do:

  • Carry out essential highway maintenance including resurfacing, kerbing, drainage, and footway reconstruction.
  • Be willing to operate gully emptying machines on occasions to maintain drainage systems and prevent flooding.
  • Drive and operate HGV or 7.5t vehicles (preferable).
  • Work on footway schemes, ensuring safe and accessible pedestrian routes.
  • Operate plant and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a positive team environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 or 7.5t driving licence with CPC (preferable)
  • Experience in highways or construction work, including gully machine operation (desirable), large patching work and footway schemes.
  • CSCS card and relevant tickets (e.g. NRSWA, CPCS, or NPORS) are desirable.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
