The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

As an energetic and effective Highway Operative, you will be part of a team of highway front line staff working on live highway sites. You will be required to work on footway schemes and patching programmes and also undertake a range of road and footway repairs, including flagging and kerbing, pothole repairs and patching, using up to date machinery and tools. Working with the gully crews, assisting with drainage problems and also responding to damage and emergencies could also be required.

You will already have some knowledge, skills and experience in the highway construction or repair and maintenance field and be familiar with working on a live highway and what that requires in terms of Health and Safety. We’re seeking someone who will not only fit seamlessly within the team but also display a commitment to continuous development and a dedication to working effectively for the City Council.

Punctuality and attendance is key to ensuring the work that is required to be delivered on a daily basis can be undertaken effectively and efficiently with site visits throughout the day across City.
