About us
We are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious Gully Wagon Operative to join our Highways Maintenance team. You will play a vital role in keeping our roads safe and operational by maintaining roadside drainage systems using a specialist gully emptying vehicle. You will be based at Swinton Hall Road Depot, Salford working fixed hours 8am – 4pm working alongside highway maintenance teams with potential for overtime.
About the Role
You will be required to drive and operate a gully wagon and be able to use associated jetting / vacuum equipment to clean and maintain highway drainage systems. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive maintenance works, including emergency call-outs. You will be expected to conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues, complete accurate records of work completed using handheld devices or paper logs, work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to meet service targets and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
About you
You will need a full UK Driving Licence with Category C (HGV Class 2) with experience operating gully wagons or similar HGVs. Have a good understanding of health and safety practices and the ability to work independently and as part of a team with a willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends on a paid overtime basis.
