About the Role
Citywide is Salford City Council’s catering service that provides healthy, tasty and nutritious meals to most of Salford’s schools.
As an Apprentice Assistant Cook you will work under the direction of the Cook Supervisor to prepare, cook and serve meals.
Your overall duties will include cleaning, washing up, storage and other general kitchen tasks, ensuring food safety, hygiene and a high standard of quality for our pupils.

- Prepare and cook meals for pupils.
- Serve meals and maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
- Perform cleaning, washing up, storage and other general duties.
Qualifications & Development
Full training will be provided and you will complete a Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship course, a hygiene certificate and a Level 2 qualification in maths and English (unless exempt).
You will also attend one day each week of training at Salford College.
