We are committed to providing outstanding support and care to children, families, carers, and practitioners across Salford. We are seeking dedicated social workers to join our Cared for Children\’s team on a part-time basis.

The team currently consists of 3 units, expanding to 4, each led by a Practice Manager, an Advanced Social Worker, and several Social Workers. Opportunities exist to work in various settings such as residential care, foster care, connected persons, and with families at home. Children’s care plans may include adoption, Special Guardianship, and long-term fostering.

Our department emphasizes supporting families to progress and reduce risks for children and young people, utilizing a range of support services and fostering positive multi-agency collaboration through models like the Family Partnership approach.

We value your personal and professional growth, offering training, mentoring, and opportunities to specialize in areas like Domestic Abuse, Adoption, and Missing from Home.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building trusted relationships with service users, respecting their wishes and beliefs.

  • Responding swiftly to crises and maintaining support until issues are resolved.
