We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team. The Accountant post will support the Adult Social Care and Health Partnerships Directorate, covering a range of services including Adult Social Care, Public Health, Housing Options, Salford Assist, Welfare Rights and Debt Advice and our Health Improvement Service.
As an Accountant, you will support the financial operations within our local authority, ensuring our financial practices comply with statutory regulations and standards. Your role will be crucial in budgeting, financial planning and reporting, contributing to the efficient management of our resources and the delivery of essential services to our community. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a new finance and procurement system, serving as the subject matter expert for Adult's finance, which includes budgeting, general ledger (GL) structures and other financial operations. Your expertise will ensure a smooth transition and integration with our existing processes, helping to drive efficiency and improve financial management across the organisation.
Key responsibilities

- Prepare budgets and forecasts and provide detailed financial reporting.
