Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join Salford City Council’s Corporate Finance Team, supporting the delivery of Project Genesis. As part of this role, you will support the Strategic Finance Manager and service management team in developing budget strategies, and provide expert financial advice and support to the Council.
- Preparing, analysing, and presenting financial information to contribute to the preparation of accounts
- Providing high-quality financial analysis to support strategic decision making
- Developing and maintaining financial monitoring systems
- Developing influential and effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the Council
- Supporting and supervising the Finance team, including the coaching and development of junior staff members
Person: The successful Finance Manager:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience), with significant accounting and commercial experience
- Demonstratable understanding of management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proven business partnering skillset with the ability to build influential relationships at senior level
- Experience of producing statement of accounts and setting corporate budgets (desirable)
- Public Sector Finance experience
