A new and exciting opportunity has become available within the Health and Social Care department. We are seeking an ambitious, innovative, and committed Deputy Head of Department for Health and Social Care to support the continued growth, development, and success of the department. Working closely with the Head of Department, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both staff and students, driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment, and contributing to the strategic direction of the curriculum area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the development of engaging and high-quality teaching and learning materials.
  • Promoting the sharing of innovative and effective practice across the department.
  • Supporting curriculum quality assurance and standardisation processes.
  • Liaising with examination boards.
  • Contributing actively to departmental meetings and development activities.
  • Fulfilling teaching responsibilities.
  • Supporting student recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Monitoring attendance and student progress.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers, prospective students, and external stakeholders.
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for both students and staff.
