An opportunity has arisen for a qualified and enthusiastic teacher to deliver A Level Sociology (AQA) at Pendleton Sixth Form College on a permanent basis. A second subject within the Social Sciences (e.g. Psychology, Health and Social Care or Criminology) would be desirable.

We are seeking a passionate practitioner with strong subject knowledge who can deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that supports students of mixed abilities to achieve excellent progress. The successful candidate will bring Sociology to life through the exploration of contemporary social issues, sociological theories and research, helping students develop critical thinking, analytical skills and an understanding of the social world. They will inspire students to examine topics such as identity, inequality, education, crime and social change while fostering intellectual curiosity and academic confidence. A commitment to high-quality pastoral support is essential.

Sociology sits within the Social Studies Department, alongside Psychology, Health and Social Care, Criminology, English Language, English Literature, Film Studies, Media Studies and Sport. The department has a strong ethos of improving the life chances of young people aged 16-18 in Salford.
