We are looking for a skilled HGV, Plant & Equipment Fitter to join our team, responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of HGVs, trailers, and plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Key Responsibilities
- Service, inspect and maintain HGVs, trailers (including bulk pressurised tanks), and plant equipment
- Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual testing and ensure compliance with Operator’s Licence standards
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise operational downtime
- About You
- Proven experience with HGVs, plant or similar heavy equipment
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
- Strong diagnostics and fault-finding capability
- Reliable, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
- Committed to high safety and compliance standards
- Flexible approach to duties and working hours
- Requirements
- Essential
- Full UK driving licence
- HGV Class 1 licence (training may be provided for the right candidate)
- NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent)
- Preferable
- Plant maintenance certificate / experience with Volvo loading shovels and forklift trucks
- Welding and fabrications skills
- IRTEC accreditation
