The Company:
My client are a retailer specialising in fitness equipment and accessories. They offer a wide range of products such as exercise machines, weights, gym accessories, and other fitness-related items.
They cater to individuals and businesses looking to set up home or commercial gyms and are looking for an Assistant Manager to help support the Store Manager in leading and improving the day to day running of the store and management of the retail team.
The Role:
- Enhancing the customer journey and in-store experience by maintaining the store and curating appropriate offerings and ambiance.
- Comprehensive understanding of our products and services to provide exceptional assistance to both the team and customers.
- Oversee the complete customer journey to ensure customer satisfaction, positively impacting our trust pilot score and fostering repeat business.
- Work with the Store Manager to stimulate foot traffic through various in-store activities.
- continuous personal growth and development, facilitating team training and preparing manuals as needed.
- Enforce team processes and procedures regularly to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Be part of the onboarding and comprehensive training of new team members.
- Deal with escalated or operational inquiries from the team on a day-to-day basis.
- Work with the Store Manager in scheduling team rotations and assigning daily tasks.
Key Requirements:
- A calm, confident, and enthusiastic demeanour when interacting with the team, internal stakeholders, and customers.
- Problem-solving abilities and resolve complaints with a positive “can do” attitude.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Utilise non MS Office packages, email, online telephone systems, PC-based back-office systems, and handle multitasking effectively.
- Work collaboratively within a broader team setting.
- Confidence in attending retail management meetings when the Store Manager is unavailable.
