About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
We are looking for an exceptional government affairs professional to join Salesforce’s Government Affairs team as the Government Affairs Manager for the UK and Ireland. Salesforce's government affairs team is a diverse group of fun and highly motivated professionals who lead the company’s engagement with government stakeholders. In this role, you will report to the Director of Government Affairs for UK & Ireland, and be responsible for supporting and expanding Salesforce’s interaction with government officials, regulators, policy-makers and industry partners across the region. The work of Government Affairs is to ensure Salesforce is recognised as the world’s #1 AI-enabled CRM enterprise, and as a trusted partner to help build and deliver AI transformation strategies for its customers.
Core Responsibilities
- Advocacy & Campaigns: Implement and manage targeted advocacy campaigns across the UK and Ireland. Create reactive advocacy plans based on political developments, drawing on data and research to inform engagement strategies and present recommendations to the wider team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build upon an already strong and growing network of industry, community, and policy contacts at the working jurisdiction level. Represent Salesforce at key trade associations and industry forums to share our vision on core public policy priorities.
- Legislative Tracking & Risk Analysis: Act as the eyes and ears for the UK and Irish business. Monitor the legislative and regulatory environments in both jurisdictions (including Westminster, Whitehall, and the Oireachtas). Provide clear, timely analysis and updates on existing political and regulatory risks, especially around AI, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
- Communications: Help develop comprehensive communications and draft high-quality briefing materials. Provide communications recommendations related to policy activities, and actively monitor how local UK/I messaging may impact other global markets.
- Business development: Ask the right questions to accurately identify business needs. Support the local business development strategy by unlocking opportunities with central and local governments, acting as a bridge between policy and commercial success.
- Internal Collaboration: Work intensively to ensure alignment across internal Salesforce units. Act as a strategic partner to different business units and collaborate effectively with Legal, PR, Marketing, and Sales teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in government, industry, consulting, think-tanks, or similar, preferably technology-related.
- An active and growing network of policymakers in the UK and Ireland.
- Strong understanding of tech policy issues, including AI, privacy, data, and trade.
- Good political, analytical and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrates excellent judgement. Able to prioritise and balance time, actions, resources and initiatives effectively.
- Ability to write and speak fluently in English.
- Embraces Salesforce’s values of trust, customer success, innovation, and equality.
Preferred Qualifications
- A self-starter with a “can-do” attitude, and a commitment to delivering results.
- Excitement to continuously learn in ever-changing and fast-moving environments.
- Demonstrates ability to both work independently and collaborate with colleagues across different departments and timezones.
- Experience working with or in multi-national corporations.
- Able to conceptualize new approaches to public policy and advocacy.
- Keen to work in an international environment.
