The world of work as we know it is changing and we’re looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all. Salesforce, the global leader in CRM and a pioneer in cloud-based innovation, is seeking an outstanding Solution Engineering Leader to align to our Travel, Transport and Hospitality (TTH) Enterprise segment.
In this pivotal role, you will act as a strategic business partner to the AVP of Sales, translating complex market needs into a high-performing technical sales strategy. You will lead a team of world-class Solution Engineers, helping to establish Salesforce as the preferred partner for AI, Data, and CRM within the TTH landscape. We are seeking a candidate who embodies Salesforce’s core values: Trust, Customer Success, Innovation, and Equality.
As a Director, you will not only be a leader of people but a leader of business. You will reimagine how we demonstrate value, engaging with C-level executives to drive digital transformation powered by Agentforce. You will foster a culture of psychological safety, continuous learning, and high performance, ensuring your team is equipped to solve the most difficult challenges facing the travel and transport industries today.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Partner with Sales Leadership: Work lock-step with your aligned AVP/RVPs to develop account strategies, drive pipeline generation, and execute growth plans that align with Salesforce’s GTM strategy.
- Drive Innovation: Run calibrated experiments to find new, efficient ways of delivering growth, focusing on transformational deals powered by Data Cloud and Agentforce.
- Executive Engagement: Build and nurture relationships at the C-level (CIO, CTO, CDO) across key TTH accounts, positioning Salesforce not just as a vendor, but as a strategic partner in their IT and business strategy.
- Operational Rigor: Exhibit strong analytical focus, translating complex data into prioritised actions that resolve competing business needs and accelerate revenue.
- Talent Management: Attract, hire, and develop premier talent. Build a multi-disciplinary team with varied skills to ensure strategic alignment with industry evolution.
- Culture of Trust: Build a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and teamwork. Champion equality and ensure every team member feels supported to do the best work of their careers.
- Player-Coach Mentality: Actively work with team members to solve difficult problems, backing them up in strategic deals and providing constructive feedback to inspire high performance.
- Continuous Learning: Promote a culture of curiosity. Ensure the team is constantly innovating in their approach to solution selling and adopting the latest Salesforce technologies.
- Internal Collaboration: Partner effectively with Product, Industry Solutions, Marketing, and Customer Success to advocate for the needs of the TTH segment and gain support for critical initiatives.
- Industry Evangelist: Represent Salesforce at executive roundtables, industry forums, and technology events, sharing visionary insights on AI, data, and the future of Travel and Hospitality.
Skills and Requirements
- Leadership Experience: Prior experience as a Solution Engineering Manager (2+ years) with a consistent track record of leading high-performing teams and developing individual careers.
- Industry Expertise: Experience in the Enterprise business market segment is essential; familiarity with the Travel, Transport, or Hospitality sectors is highly desired.
- Strategic Vision: A forward-thinker with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value. You must be able to articulate the benefits of Cloud, AI, and Data to non-technical C-suite audiences.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Salesforce CRM technologies, with a strong grasp of the current AI landscape (Agentforce, Copilots, LLMs) and Data Cloud.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work in a matrixed environment, communicating equally well with internal resources (Product, GTM, Sales) and external executives.
- Pre-Sales DNA: A history of success as an Individual Contributor in Solution Engineering is highly desired. You understand the mechanics of the demo, the discovery, and the technical close.
- High Standards: Aligned with the high-performance culture at Salesforce, holding yourself and your team to the highest standards of execution and integrity.
