Salesforce is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Senior Director, to support the organization’s strategy, growth, and operational excellence. As a leader in the Controllership Global organization, responsibilities will be around developing projects in support of designing complex and high-risk accounting transactions and their related processes across our operations globally. The environment is dynamic and the role will consist in contributing or leading projects and initiatives to ensure proper integration of US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAP accounting and finance business requirements.

You will adeptly collaborate with internal teams (FP&A, Legal, Treasury, Tax, Compensation, IT etc.) and external stakeholders (system integrators, business integrators etc), gain leadership experience to and support staff so that they are able to act when requirements are ambiguous or evolving.

  • Impact Integration Strategy & Planning: Lead the development of the integration strategy aligned with the deal model and accretion plan, translate strategic objectives into detailed integration roadmaps (including milestones, deliverables, and KPIs), and establish robust governance structures and decision-making frameworks with clear escalation paths.
  • Design standard playbooks: for non-standard transactions such as acquisitions, mergers, country expansion.
  • Operational Excellence & Insights: Define and implement KPIs in coordination with GPOs to monitor performance, enhance visibility on operational effectiveness for leadership. Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • AI & Automation Enablement: Identify and deploy with finance transformations high-impact AI/agent use cases to scale automated, data-driven operations across Controllership.
  • Global Controllership Alignment: Serve as a central integration point to ensure that as we scale, our initiatives are aligned across our Global Process Owners (GPOs), cross-functional partners, and technology teams.
  • Drive Holistic Stakeholders Engagement: Facilitate alignment across diverse groups (Tax, Treasury, Legal, M&A) to ensure that Controllership initiatives consider the full financial picture and regulatory landscape.
  • Strategic Decision Support: Lead key strategic projects within the Global Accounting organization, specifically identifying decision bottlenecks and presenting clear facts to the appropriate stakeholders to facilitate resolution.
  • Technology & Business Liaison: Serve as a key bridge between the Accounting function and the Digital Enterprise Transformation (DET) team. You will help articulate clear business facts, define requirements, and support critical design decisions to ensure our systems support our accounting needs.
  • Executive Communication & Storytelling: Transform complex project updates and accounting data into clear, compelling narratives. You will act as the content creator for executive presentations, ensuring that leadership and sponsors have a digestible, fact-based view of project status and decision points.
  • Accounting Operations: Support international accounting operations on certain complex transactions including local compliance obligations or M&A activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the International accounting environment of which 5+ years in a relevant role for the position.
  • Expertise in US GAAP, IFRS and local statutory requirements.
  • Robust experience with SOX audit framework.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related subject area, Project management certification as a plus.
  • Ability to drive work independently, identifying solutions, moving them to implementation, and developing long-range strategies.
  • A track record of working successfully in a matrix environment.
  • Team player; self-starter; results-oriented; 'can do' attitude; hands-on approach who is able to work with virtual, global & cross functional teams.
  • Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside and outside the immediate organization who provide decision making, information, or support.
  • Must be able to multitask, work efficiently under tight deadlines and proactively track and report progress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to “engage in the conversation”.
  • Ability to create executive-level decks and verbally articulate complex ideas simply and concisely.
