Up to 64,000 GBP basic plus a 15% bonus Manage an established book of distributor, dealer and OEM accounts, 80% existing business A close knit local team with the backing of a substantial international group Six month handover from the outgoing incumbent, including introductions across the distributor network Order values from 7,500 GBP to 60,000 GBP, with individual projects running into six figures THE CLIENT A well established manufacturer of technical industrial products, operating as a close knit local business unit within a substantial international group.

The business sits early in the supply chain and sells through a network of appointed distributors and dealers, with some direct OEM and end user accounts alongside them.

You get the autonomy and the short decision lines of a small team, with the security and the backing of a much larger parent behind you.

THE ROLE This is a technical sales, account management and business development role built around a distributor and dealer network, with OEM and end user accounts sitting behind it.

You will inherit a live territory with established relationships and a clear brief to manage it properly rather than simply service it.

It is a varied role rather than a narrow one.

Across a typical month you will be developing relationships with specialist distributors and dealers, dealing directly with OEMs and end users, running account management on an established book, doing genuine business development on the 20% that is new, raising awareness of the product across the market, and representing the business at industry trade shows.

Relationships are run over Teams, by phone and by email, with a couple of trade shows a year.

This is not a role that lives out of a suitcase.

Day to day you will be managing the performance of the distributors and dealers you look after, working out which ones are underperforming and why, and putting structure behind relationships that have been left to run themselves.

Some distributors hold their OEM and end user detail close, so a large part of the job is earning enough trust to get visibility of where the product is actually going, then building the plan to grow it.

Around 80% of the role is existing business and 20% is new.

There are no targets in place today.

The client wants the person coming in to help build the budget, the goals and the metrics, so you will have real input into how the territory is measured.

Order sizes typically run between 7,500 GBP and 60,000 GBP, with occasional projects at 150,000 GBP and above.

ABOUT YOU You will have sold an engineered, technical or industrial product through a distributor, dealer or channel network, and you will have managed those relationships across more than one country.

Experience selling into or alongside OEMs and manufacturing end users will serve you well here.

That channel experience matters more than knowing this particular product.

You do not need an engineering degree or a technical qualification.

You do need enough technical aptitude and curiosity to hold a straightforward product conversation with an engineer or a buyer, or to know where to go to get the answer.

An engineering or electrical background is a plus rather than a requirement.

The client is looking for someone structured, proactive and comfortable being measured.

Someone who will build the plan rather than wait to be given one.

This will suit a technical sales manager, industrial sales manager, business development manager, area sales manager, distributor account manager or key account manager from an engineering, industrial, manufacturing or distribution background.

THE REWARDS Basic salary up to 64,000 GBP Bonus of 15% of salary, paid annually Pool car for the first six months, then a company car or car allowance Pension Life insurance at four times salary Six month handover and full introduction to the distributor and dealer network Apply now for immediate consideration.
