What if you could combine complex solution selling, public sector engagement and mission-critical technology in a role with genuine autonomy and growth potential? I’m working with a globally recognised technology business that delivers command, control and communications software into mission-critical environments, supporting organisations where resilience, response time and operational visibility are critical.
The business already has an established presence within Fire & Rescue services across the UK and is now looking to hire a commercially driven BDM to grow this vertical further, while also expanding into adjacent sectors such as Transport, Airports, Police and wider public-sector environments. This is a genuine hunter role focused on identifying, developing and winning opportunities through a combination of direct engagement, framework routes and formal public-sector tenders.
The Opportunity
The company is already active within this space, with live tender opportunities and an established reputation within mission-critical communications environments. The successful individual will be responsible for:
- Developing relationships with Fire & Rescue services and local authorities
- Identifying and converting new public-sector opportunities
- Managing tender and framework-led sales processes
- Driving growth across additional verticals including Transport, Airports and Policing
- Positioning technically credible command-and-control solutions within operational environments
This is not a transactional software sale. The role requires someone capable of operating consultatively, understanding operational workflows and building credibility with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Person
You will be a commercially strong, proactive business developer with experience selling complex technical solutions into public-sector or regulated environments. Ideally, you will have exposure to:
- Fire & Rescue
- Emergency Services
- Public Safety
- Control Room / Command & Control environments
- Telecommunications or mission-critical communications
However, the business is also open to candidates from adjacent sectors, provided you have experience of navigating public-sector tenders and engaging with technically complex customer environments. You must be technically credible and comfortable discussing areas such as:
- Telecommunications infrastructure
- Servers and switching environments
- Networks and operational systems integration
The role requires someone capable of building trust with operational stakeholders, understanding customer requirements and translating technical capability into commercial value.
Why Join?
- Globally recognised technology business
- High-autonomy environment with strong support
- Genuine opportunity to shape and grow a vertical
- Existing customer base and active tenders already in play
- Opportunity to progress as the UK operation continues to grow
- Flexible, remote-first culture with UK-wide reach
If you have experience selling technically complex solutions into public-sector or mission-critical environments and are looking for a role with autonomy, growth potential and genuine market opportunity - let’s have a conversation.
