This role sits within a large, privately owned UK group with turnover well into the billions, operating through a portfolio of autonomous businesses across Scotland and the wider UK. Each business trades independently, with its own customers, teams and commercial priorities. What the group values is continuity, pace and strong commercial decision-making at local level. This role exists to strengthen that.
You will operate across several Scottish businesses, working alongside senior managers to ensure sales momentum, customer relationships and commercial focus are maintained at all times. Sometimes you’ll be supporting. Sometimes you’ll be leading from the front. Always, you’ll be adding experienced commercial judgement where it matters. It’s a senior, hands-on role designed for someone who understands how trade-led B2B businesses really work and is comfortable operating across different environments without needing a rulebook.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- You’ll work across multiple business units as required, focusing on revenue, customer engagement and commercial continuity.
- You’ll support and influence sales teams, step into key customer relationships when needed, and act as a trusted commercial presence alongside existing senior managers.
- You’ll identify risks early, spot opportunities quickly and deal with both pragmatically. This is not about reporting lines or theory. It’s about protecting performance and driving growth across a group of profitable, established operations.
- Over time, exposure to multiple businesses at this level creates a clear pathway into running larger parts of the group, with significantly enhanced financial upside.
WHO THIS WILL APPEAL TO
This role will resonate with someone who is already operating at a senior commercial level and wants broader scope. You may currently be a senior sales professional trusted with key customers. You may be running a branch or business unit and want greater exposure and influence. You may already be the person others rely on when things get busy, complex or commercially sensitive. You’ll be credible with customers, respected by teams and comfortable making decisions without layers of approval.
WHY THIS ROLE WORKS
Because it offers variety without chaos, responsibility without bureaucracy and progression without politics. Because it places you close to customers, revenue and decision-makers. And because it’s designed for people who want to build long-term value within a serious, well-backed group rather than chase the next title.
