Our client's Cultural Office is based in London and aims to enhance the partnership between Qatar and the United Kingdom in culture and education. Its main role is to ensure the success of Qatari students by providing counselling, guidance, supervision, and support throughout their studies at institutes across the United Kingdom, from admission to graduation.

They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented higher education specialist to lead the Equivalency and Legislation Department. The successful candidate will bring expertise in higher education in the UK and will oversee the verification of academic qualifications and the legislation of documents. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, legitimacy, and recognition of academic qualifications, working closely with educational institutions, regulatory authorities, and government bodies in the United Kingdom and the State of Qatar. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of academic frameworks, institutional accreditation, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience in academic verification, quality assurance, or higher education administration
  • Strong understanding of international education systems, particularly the UK
  • Fluent in Arabic & English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead, manage tasks independently, and produce high-quality reports

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial screening of equivalency requests received from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education
  • Communicate with awarding institutions to verify certificate authenticity and gather key academic details (e.g., study mode, duration, and qualification data)
  • Ensure the legitimacy of documents and institutions, verifying that academic credentials are genuine and meet recognition standards
  • Evaluate the suitability of academic programs in relation to recognized standards and regulations
  • Stay informed about developments within UK educational institutions, including policy changes and accreditation updates
  • Lead the preparation of regular analytical and performance reports on the Cultural Office’s work and progress
  • Conduct research and provide reports on UK education systems, statistics, and institutional performance
  • Manage the document legalization process, including certificates, transcripts, and confirmation letters
  • Act as a liaison with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Embassy, universities, and other partner institutions
  • Work on establishing and strengthening ties with UK educational institutions through strategic partnerships and collaboration initiatives, and maintain an up-to-date database of these relationships
  • Support management with ad hoc requests and contribute to the strategic development of the department
