Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, heating, ventilation, pipework, ductwork, and associated services
- Review technical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to identify scope, risks, opportunities for value engineering, and cost savings
- Source and negotiate best-value quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Collaborate with the sales team to create compelling bid proposals and high-quality tender submissions
- Support client presentations, technical clarifications, and occasional site surveys/visits
- Maintain and develop our cost databases, benchmarks, and historical pricing data
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Proven track record as a Mechanical Estimator, M&E Estimator, Building Services Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or similar in the construction/building services sector
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating, ventilation, pipework, ductwork)
- Confident reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, and BOQs
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
- Strong negotiation, communication, and team-working abilities
Desirable
- Experience using estimating software
- Background in fast-track office fit-outs, refurbishments, or commercial M&E projects
- Familiarity with current UK building regulations, industry standards, and value engineering approaches
Why Sale Group?
- Work on diverse, interesting high-profile projects with a company that's big enough to support but small enough to care
- Join a stable, family-owned business with a fantastic reputation for quality and delivery
- Supportive team culture with real opportunities for professional development
- Competitive salary (£65K–£85K) + attractive benefits package (to be discussed at interview)
