This summer, Sale e Pepe Mare at The Langham, London, will launch La Terrazza, a vibrant seasonal dining destination inspired by the relaxed elegance of the Italian coast. Centred around exceptional hospitality, premium ingredients, and the spirit of Mediterranean outdoor dining, La Terrazza will offer guests a lively and memorable al fresco experience throughout the summer season.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pizza Chef. This is a senior position ideally suited to a chef operating at Junior Sous Chef level, with the skills and confidence to take ownership of the pizza offering and help establish one of the terrace's key food experiences. Following the terrace season, the role will transition into the wider Sale e Pepe Mare kitchen team.

The Role

As Pizza Chef, you will be responsible for leading the pizza section, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation throughout service. You will oversee dough production, fermentation, mise en place, and service execution, while maintaining the high standards expected of both Sale e Pepe Mare and The Langham. This is a hands-on role for a chef who takes pride in traditional Italian techniques, premium ingredients, and delivering exceptional food in a high-volume, guest-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the pizza section for La Terrazza
  • Manage dough preparation and quality control
  • Prepare and cook pizzas to consistently high standards
  • Ensure smooth and efficient service during busy trading periods
  • Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation
  • Support stock management and ordering processes
  • Train and support junior chefs working within the section
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to deliver operational excellence
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal specials and menu development
  • Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety procedures

About You

We are looking for a Pizza Chef who:

  • Has proven experience as a Pizza Chef within a quality Italian restaurant, premium casual dining operation, hotel, or high-volume venue
  • Has excellent knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation, and pizza production techniques
  • Is operating at, or ready to step into, Junior Sous Chef level responsibility
  • Demonstrates strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Is passionate about Italian food and hospitality
  • Maintains exceptional standards and attention to detail
  • Thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Has the right to live and work in the UK
